1. How soon can I start using my benefits?

Immediately! Your digital membership card is ready as soon as you join, and all benefits are active right away.

2. How do I use my member discounts?

It’s easy — just show your Digital Membership Card on your phone at any partner location. After joining, you’ll get instant access to your card through your member account.

3. Which restaurants and businesses participate?

Over 20 local spots throughout Ventura County — top-rated restaurants, farm stands, artisan shops, entertainment venues, and more. Check out the ever-growing list here. And,we’re always adding new partners.

4. When will I receive my membership card?

Immediately after joining! You’ll get instant access to your digital membership card through your online account. You can view it, bookmark it, or save it to your phone’s home screen.

5. What's the difference between monthly and annual?

Both give you identical benefits. Annual members save $15 per year ($165 vs $180) by paying upfront. That’s one month free! Choose whichever works best for your budget.

6. Can I cancel anytime?

Absolutely. Cancel anytime, no commitment. Just remember: the Founders Club 2026 rate lock is only for the first 300 members. If you cancel and rejoin later, you’ll pay standard rates.

7. Can I share my membership with my spouse/family?

Your membership is for you (your photo is on your digital card, after all). But think of it as your VIP pass to share the experience. When you’re dining together, everyone at your table benefits from the discount. No lending your card to friends, though. That’s what gift memberships are for!

8. I don't live in Ventura County. Can I still join?

Absolutely! If you visit Ventura County a few times per year, the event savings alone make it worthwhile. Plus, the newsletter keeps you connected to local food and agriculture from anywhere.

9. What happens after the first 300 members?

Once the first 300 spots are filled, Founders Club closes. New members can still join but will pay standard rates without the founding member rate protection. The early bird really does get the worm here!

10. Is my membership tax-deductible?

Totally Local VC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Consult your tax advisor, but typically the portion above the fair market value of benefits received may be deductible.

11. How does a local business become a Totally Local Collective partner?

Just fill out our online registration form and choose your exclusive offers — discounts, deals, or perks — for Totally Local Collective members. Once approved, we’ll promote your business across our website, social media, newsletters, and events, and walk your team through our simple member verification process.
