Chef Tim Kilcoyne is a true pioneer in Ventura’s farm-to-fork movement—and one of our original legacy chefs. From some of the very first of Totally Local VC’s Farm-to-Fork Dinner Series events nearly 20 years ago, Tim has helped shape what these evenings have become today. In fact, he even coined the phrase “Gorilla Catering” to describe how Totally Local VC transforms farms and iconic locations into unforgettable dining experiences—a tradition we proudly continue.

Known for his passion for seasonal cooking and dedication to locally sourced ingredients, Chef Tim will once again curate a harvest-inspired, multi-course menu for our Farm-to-Fork Dinner at McGrath Family Farms on October 2, 2025. Each course will highlight the freshest produce straight from the farm, paired with wines from Cantara Cellars and craft brews from Flat Fish Brewing—showcasing the best of Ventura County’s vintners and brewers.

Chef Tim doesn’t just cook food — he brings the spirit of Ventura County farms to the table.

A Chef with Global Experience and Local Roots

Born and raised in Southern California, Tim has spent more than 25 years creating ingredient-driven cuisine that lets farm flavors shine. A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Portland, he has led acclaimed restaurants, food trucks, and culinary ventures, always guided by a simple philosophy: let the ingredients speak for themselves.

Beyond the kitchen, Tim’s career has taken him around the globe—cooking in high-end restaurants, at community gatherings, and even in disaster relief efforts. His humanitarian spirit and belief in the power of food to bring people together are woven into every meal he prepares.

Now working as a private chef, Tim brings that same heart and skill into intimate dining experiences. Whether serving an elegant multi-course feast or a bold twist on American classics, his food is always rooted in seasonality, intention, and a deep respect for the land and community.
