Thanking Our Wonderful Volunteers
American volunteerism recently reached a 5 year high. We would like to say a big “thank you” to all of our Totally Local VC volunteers.
A volunteer is a person who can see what others cannot see; who can feel what most do not feel. Often, such gifted persons do not think of themselves as volunteers, but as citizens – citizens in the fullest sense: partners in our community.

Did you know that in 2011 the number of volunteers reached its highest level in five years, as 64.3 million Americans volunteered? Americans volunteered a total of almost 8 billion hours, at an estimated economic value of roughly $171 billion! A majority of Americans assisted their neighbors in some way and more than a third actively participated in a civic, religious, or school group
